For years it was a simple task to draw a deer tag in just about any part of Kansas. Over the past 10 years or so the popularity of Kansas deer hunting has grown substantially. Tags that were once an almost a guarante are now 50% and soon to be harder and harder to draw. Typically, If you were one that had bad luck and didn’t draw a tag you automatically were given a “preference point”. The preference point basically carried over to the following year given you a guarentee of a tag.
We believe that 50% - 60% of our hunting customers will not draw every year so we are telling them to keep 2 years open just in case they don’t draw on your first try.
When you choose to hunt with us and enter the Kansas Lottery Draw or simply purchase a preference point, we suggest you select UNITS 15, 16 and 5.
If you are unsure of how to register for the draw or need guidance you call us so we can walk you through the process and explain your options.
